Experience

Babcock & Wilcox de México was in a position to respond to the industrialization of Mexico in the 1960’s, 70’s y 80’s, having supplied almost 40 Bi-drum type boilers of an equivalent 50 MW capacity as demanded by the Mexican market for the petroleum, steel, chemical, etc. industries. Most of these bi-drum type boilers were for power plants and used for electrical generation combined with process steam.

The result of Babcock & Wilcox de Mexico’s expertise and reputation for quality and service has brought business from a number of significant clients, including PEMEX (Petroleos Mexicanos) and CFE (Comision Federal de Electricidad).

Our Company is also involved on the supply of boilers to other countries as widespread as Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua in Central America; Chile, Colombia, Guyana and Venezuela in South America; United States and Canada in North America; and other countries like Angola, Aruba, Cuba, Singapore and Holland.

Babcock & Wilcox de México has taken part in the utility or power boiler market either in its own right using Doosan Babcock’s technology or in joint ventures with other boiler companies such as Babcock & Wilcox Canada Ltd and Babcock Hitachi Ltd from Japan.

REHABILITATION AND REPOWERING.

Since several years ago, PEMEX and CFE have required repowering and rehabilitation for their existing boilers. Babcock & Wilcox de México, as OEM has developed important repowering and rehabilitation projects for PEMEX.

The repowering has allowed to increase boiler capacity by almost 10%, efficiency by 2% and the installation of Low NOx combustion equipment allowed to meet emission levels as dictated by the Mexican Authorities.
